This past weekend, along with remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice during military service, our community took a moment to remember a local hero and NYPD Detective who was killed while serving in the Air Force in Afghanistan in 2015. The White Plains Avenue Bridge was renamed the "NYPD Detective Tech Sergeant Joseph G. Lemm Memorial Bridge." Along with members from the White Plains Fire Department, Tower Ladder 9 and Ladder 32 hung the American Flag high over the bridge during the ceremony.
