*Weekend In Review*
On Thursday May 25th the West Harrison Fire Department participated in the rolling remembrance closing ceremony at PepsiCo HQ in Purchase. Rolling remembrance is a 8,000+ mile relay of an American flag that is transported through normal Pepsi routes by veteran drivers in support of and to benefit “The Children Of Fallen Patriots” foundation. It was an honor to be apart of this event as a department.
Additionally on Thursday May 25th the department hosted its annual Memorial Day services in remembrance of all of our departed members.
On Sunday May 28th at approximately 13:49 hours Tower Ladder 9 was requested to relocate to Port Chester Fire Headquarters as they were operating at a working structure fire. While enroute Tower Ladder 9 was redirected to the scene and received instructions to take the front of the building. Upon arrival members went to work performing ventilation, search, and overhaul. During the fire a mayday was transmitted by two fellow firefighters on roof. Tower Ladder 9 bucket was already in position to preform ventilation and because of their quick thinking and situational awareness they were able to remove those two firefighters to the ground safely and without injury. Members operated for approximately 2 and a half hours before returning to service. Always a pleasure working with our mutual aid partners.

Lastly the Department participated in the annual Town Village Of Harrison Memorial Day parade and ceremony in downtown Harrison.
Today we would like to ask everyone to reflect, remember and honor all the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in protecting our nation and its freedom. |
